On some occasions, Delilah might be found in her room; with a proper lab once again, it's rather uncluttered, aside from books stacked on the bedside table, half-written notes accompanying. On the trunk at the end of the bed, there's a wicker basket filled with blankets and a well-chewed pillow where her badger kitten sleeps when not curled up with the scientist.

It was no surprise after the sort of week had that Peter found Delilah asleep in the lab. No, really it wasn't. He knew he had been a handful, and she had been running around with Alyss to keep some sort of thing running about the house once all of them had moved in.

Had she even found a room of her own?

Peter approached slowly where she was likely sleeping at a table down there, lightly resting a hand against her shoulder, "Delilah?"

Dear lord, woman.

Still, Peter actually smiled, stepping back and just to her side once she roused, "Nothing more than you sleeping in a chair, rather than a bed. How long have you been sleeping wherever?" Oh, looked to be his turn to fuss.

Oh. That was a bit more enthusiastic of a reply than Rabbit had been ready for, the 'bot's already unstable footing wobbling a little before he caught himself, an arm moving to the woman's shoulder to keep them both steady.

"H-h-hey there, Miss Delilah. Just was hopin' t' peek in on ya since....yanno, I ain't so dead anymore."

Peter, for once, had been spending less and less time in the lab himself once the boys had felt comfortable enough with venturing out into the city. Money still needed to be made after all, and after the last even had been going out and accompanying them. They were talented entertainers, as he had been seeing for himself.

He had noticed, however, that Delilah had been spending more and more time in the lab. This was why there would be a plate that held a sandwich cut into four squares on a nearby table.

"You may need a little natural light soon, you know."

"Good evening, Delilah," loss of time was a rather normal side effect from spending so much time down inn any sort of lab, really. Even more so when the work was so easily gotten into and lost in.

"When was the last time you ate?"

Some time after the Fathers Day celebration, Delilah would get a knock on her bedroom door, and a Jon waiting just outside with a stack of pancakes on a plate.

"Hey, Miss Delilah! Y'missed breakfast, we had a party and everything!" He held up the plate, as if to demonstrate. "Want some pancakes? They've got extra sprinkles." Yes, those were rainbow sprinkles drowning in a small ocean of syrup.

The Jon's chirpiness wasn't as infectious as Hatch Fever, but some days it came close! He bounced inside at the invitation and set the pancakes down on the closest flat surface he could find - in this case, the top of the dresser - then plopped down cross-legged at the foot of her bed.

"You must be hungry, huh? I know you and Pappy don't eat much 'cause you forget sometimes until Spine comes and reminds you, but breakfast is important!"

From: [personal profile] lovesbobbydarin
Ever since Father's Day, The Jon had been visiting Delilah's room on a regular basis, and moving back to the boarding house hadn't changed that in the slightest. Sometimes he came by for stories, or hair-brushing sessions, sometimes to bring up meals... but usually he visited to check on the dark, hazy fog of colours that had been swirling around Delilah's head for months. He didn't know what the colours meant, but they made him deeply uneasy, and they felt wrong somehow. He couldn't explain why, and wouldn't have had any luck voicing his concerns to the others... not when he barely understood them himself. Until he could figure it out, he'd just keep visiting and trying to brighten up the chemist's day a little bit. She always seemed so tired...

"Miss Delilah?" He knocked on the door (the concept of 'knocking' had taken a long time to sink in properly) and squinted against the doorframe, trying to see through the small gap between the door and the wall. "We made some tacos! Have you ever had tacos before? You should try one!"

The Jon's optics brightened as he stepped inside. Hey, she wasn't sleeping, maybe Delilah wasn't as tired as she'd been before! This definitely seemed to be a step up.

"Nobody here's heard of tacos, it's weird. You'd think Mexico didn't exist." A brief, horrified pause. "... Maybe it doesn't!" Annnd just as quickly he was back to his baseline cheerfulness, horror instantly forgotten. "Anyway, a taco's like a piece of crunchy bread with meat and spices and salsa and stuff squished in the middle. They're pretty much the tastiest things ever." And yes, there was a makeshift taco on the plate he was holding out, cobbled together from whatever the Walter Girls had been able to find in the kitchen. Since The Jon had no part in making it, it was probably edible.

Miss Delilah's head-clouds were getting worse. Instead of the hazy, drifting mist that had settled around her before, the clouds had become deeper and more saturated, growing tendrils that wound around the chemist's neck and shifting between colours in a way that made The Jon's head hurt when he stared at them for too long. The darker the clouds got, the more often Jon showed up in Delilah's room, determined to figure out what was going on (or at least figure out how to articulate what was wrong), and often staying up with her until he drifted into stasis.

"Miss Delilah!" There was an insistent knock at the door today, a quick shave-and-a-haircut rhythm that would be repeated until he was let in. "I brought you tea, this time. And cookies, 'cause there were some downstairs." Everybody liked cookies, right?

"There's tea, if you're thirsty!" Sorry Delilah, The Jon was in one of his rare focused moods today, and he was going to be even more persistent than usual.

"... Sorry, did I wake you up? I..." His mouth clicked shut in the middle of the sentence and The Jon's eyes narrowed, then began searching Delilah's face. The bright blue glow of his optics dimly lit the room behind her, and made her look even more sickly in the shadows.

"... It got worse again..." The words came out in a stunned mumble, half spoken to himself. "You... Miss Delilah, you really don't look so good..."

With the amount of bodies present in Walter House, both human and robotic alike, it made sense that there wouldn't be many available bedrooms left over that were vacant, and what rooms were being used played host to at least two or three residents. So when a certain mechanical giraffe had arrived in the city and was brought to the house, the dilemma of where to lodge her became quite apparent.

GG knew that beggars really couldn't be choosers, but her choices were still pretty limited. She didn't particularly feel like bunking with the other bots in their rooms, especially since they were kind of crowded thanks to having multiple copies of the same bot share said rooms (with the exception of Rabbit and her ladyfriend Alice, but still, that's two bodies in one room). Staying with the Walter Girls would be nice, but again, it seemed fairly crowded in there. Peter Six was too reclusive for her taste, and Peter I, well... she hadn't really spoken much with him, and she kind of preferred to keep it that way. That left one candidate for roommate-ship, and that was with Delilah, someone GG was genuinely happy to share a room with. After all, she had seemed pretty nice when they first met!

So with a little bit of shuffling around, GG found herself settling into her new shared room with this new lady scientist. She didn't really have a bed yet, but she had no problem curling up on one of those comfy chairs by the window. She was seated in one right now, looking around at the decor while a small puff of steam wafted from her.

"You got a nice room here, Miss Delilah. You really picked one of the good ones!"

That extra sunshine flowing into the room was very much welcomed, and GG soaked it up as if she were a cat. In fact, she'd probably be purring happily if she could.

"You sure lucked out! I bet the others are wishing they got a room this nice." She hadn't seen everyone else's rooms yet, but she's sure they're inferior because they're not her room.

"Sure! That way we can have a proper sleepover party!" Cause that's how sleepovers worked, right? "But I don't mind sleeping here for now." It was a pretty comfy chair, that's for sure, but having a proper place to sleep would probably do good later.

GG blinks at Delilah as she scratches the... what even was that? Well, whatever it is, she's giving it a scratch behind the ears. "What's that supposed to be??" It kind of looked like a cat. Was it a cat?

...did it taste like a cat?

[It was no secret that GG could be a brat. Even after her ordeal with her kidnapping, with time she was able to get back to poking fun at the other robots and occasionally pulling pranks around the house in order to ease her boredom. She didn't sneak out as much anymore, which was both a blessing and a curse; it meant it was easier to keep an eye on her, but it also meant that most of her antics were done against the other members of the house.]

[But it was all in good fun, for the most part. Grudges forgotten the next day, irritations brushed aside easily.]

[This time, though, GG wasn't so sure that was the case. She'd angered The Spine... really angered him. Like, scary levels of anger. And she didn't know what to do because of it.]

[She didn't come down to dinner that night, though after supper she'd come up to hers and Delilah's shared room, seeking the other scientist out. She needed help and didn't feel like talking to the other robots.]
